Starter guide — expanded editorial coverage to follow

Most people do not need a longer recovery routine. They need a shorter one they will actually do on a Tuesday night.

Ten minutes, most days

  1. Two minutes of easy movement to warm up — walk, or march on the spot.
  2. Five minutes on whatever feels tight from your day.
  3. Three minutes of slow breathing or simply sitting still before bed.

Anchor it to something

Habits stick when they are attached to an existing one: after the evening shower, after the kids are down, before you sit on the couch.

What to track

  • How you feel at the start of the next session or shift.
  • Sleep consistency, not just sleep length.
  • Whether the routine survived a hard week.
