Product feature

What is LactiGo?

LactiGo Regular is a topical sports hydration gel that is applied directly to the skin, rather than taken as a drink or supplement. It is sold in a tube, a pump bottle and single-use sachets.

How it fits into a routine

LactiGo states that the gel should be applied to clean, dry skin and massaged in until absorbed. For pre-activity use, LactiGo recommends applying it approximately 30–45 minutes before physical activity. LactiGo also provides directions for post-activity use. Follow the directions supplied with the product.

What's in it?

Ingredients we can verify from LactiGo's own product information:

  • Water
  • Glycerin
  • Carnosine
  • Magnesium sulfate

We only list ingredients confirmed by the manufacturer. Check the packaging for the full list supplied with your product.

Sport testing

LactiGo states that the product participates in Informed Sport testing. Informed Sport is a banned-substance testing programme: it relates to the screening of products for prohibited substances, and it does not indicate that a product improves performance or recovery.

Products like this tend to be looked at by people involved in recreational sport, football, running, gym and strength training, and generally physically active lifestyles.

Recovery Edition also writes for people doing physically demanding work. We make no claim that LactiGo treats pain, injuries or any medical condition. If something hurts beyond ordinary training soreness, see a qualified health professional.

How to use it

  • Apply to clean, dry skin and massage in until absorbed.
  • Pre-activity: LactiGo recommends applying approximately 30–45 minutes before physical activity.
  • Post-activity: LactiGo provides separate directions for use after activity.
  • Always follow the instructions supplied with the product you purchase.

Our view

Recovery isn't one product. Sleep, nutrition, sensible training loads, movement and rest all matter. We see LactiGo as a product people may choose to incorporate into that wider routine rather than a replacement for the fundamentals.

Recovery Edition has not independently or clinically tested this product.
